How to configure LinkSys SPA2102 VoIP Gateway

The telephone adapter ports are located on the rear panel. With these ports, the SPA2102 allows you to use analogue devices to make VoIP calls.

  1. POWER — port for connecting the power adapter.
  2. ETHERNET (LAN) — port for connecting a computer or other network device (RJ-45).
    INTERNET (WAN) — port for connecting the device to the Internet or local area network (RJ-45).
  3. PHONE 1/2 — ports for connecting analogue telephones to the network (RJ-11).

Front panel: on the front of the adapters there is a set of 4 indicators showing the status of power, Internet connection and the status of the two telephone lines. 

  1. POWER — lights when the telephone adapter is switched on and connected to the Internet. Blinks when there is no connection. 
  2. INTERNET — lights when connected to the Internet. Blinks when there is traffic through the port.
  3. PHONE 1/2 — lights up when telephone sets (fax machines) are connected. Blinks when talking or the handset is lifted.

Step 1. Log in to the web interface

  1. Connect the LinkSys SPA2102 to your local network.
  2. Open a web browser on your computer and browse to the IP address of the device. You can check what IP the device has received in the router settings:
    "Network Map" — "Basic" — "Wired Clients".

If you don’t know the address of the АТА device, you can find out the address as follows:

  1. Connect an analogue phone to the Phone 1 or Phone 2 port on the ATA device. (You may not hear a dial tone).
  2. Press **** on the keypad to enter the IVR menu.
  3. Press 110#.

How to reset password to factory settings

Resetting the administrator password

To reset the administrator password, dial ‘****73738#’ on the phone and also confirm the procedure by pressing the "1" key.

Resetting the user password

To reset the user password, dial ‘****877778#’ on the phone and confirm the procedure by pressing the "1" key.

Resetting the gateway settings

To reset the gateway settings, dial ‘****73738#’. After performing this action the administrator password will also be reset.

Step 2. Voice - System

In this section, you can update the password for logging on to the VOIP gateway.
Click "Submit All Changes" to save the settings.


Step 3. Voice - Regional

  1. Set the desired time zone (in this case GMT+2).
  2. Press "Submit All Changes" to save the settings.

Step 4. Voice - Line 1

  1. Enter "vpoxy2.maxnet.ua" (server) in the "Proxy" line.
  2. In the "Register Expires" line - 3600 (registration time).
  3. In the "Display Name", "User ID", "Auth ID" lines - "ХХХХХХХХХ" (your SIP account number without 0 at the beginning).
  4. In the "Password" line - SIP account password.
  5. In the "Preferred Codec" line - G711a.
  6. To save the settings, click "Submit All Changes".

Step 5. Voice - Info

  1. Check the current time on the VoIP gateway.
  2. The "Registration State" line displays the status "Registered".
  3. In the "Hook State" line, enter "On".

Now you can make a test call.
