The basic parameters for devices are compactness, shooting quality and the presence of a DVR. The camera should be small so as not to spoil the interior, and shoot in high quality. The device records video information in memory using a video recorder. Other options depend on the purpose for which you are buying the camera.

For example, if you are monitoring staff, it is better to purchase devices with rotating lenses and motion detectors. If you go on business trips for a long time, the system must support remote smartphone connection using the application. If it is important for you to monitor the situation at night, then the camera should have built-in infrared illumination.

The choice of locations for installing equipment also depends on the purpose. Cameras are most often mounted in the following areas:

• next to the front door, inside and outside the premises - if protection from intruders is needed;
• in each room at a point that provides the best viewing angle - if it is important to monitor the entire apartment during a long absence;
• in inconspicuous parts of the premises and in areas where valuables are located - to monitor nannies, maids, housekeepers.

Cameras for daytime shooting, which need a good level of lighting, are mounted close to windows. Devices with infrared illumination can be installed in rooms with zero lighting.

There are two types of storage: physical and virtual. The former include memory cards in the cameras themselves, USB drives or hard drives. The media type depends on the size of the archive you want to store. The largest physical storage device is the hard drive.

Virtual storage is a cloud for which the provider is responsible. You choose the appropriate storage capacity for information from the cameras to be automatically sent to the virtual hard disk. We recommend you additionally install a flash drive in the camera. If the connection is interrupted, the device will record the video on the media and then send it to the cloud.
